Soundz.fm ♥ radionomy

July 19th, 2010, posted in Soundz news | No Comments »

Good news, everyone! We have partnered with our friends from Radionomy to make Soundz.fm even more exciting. From today, you’ll be able to access the best user created radios from Radionomy and add them to the list of your favourites.

Radionomy is an online service ( techcrunch article ) that lets their passionate users create and run their own private radio stations and broadcast them to the world. Anyone can then listen to these stations, discover new music and be amazed. All of that for free. If this isn’t the new school style of radio then we don’t know what is. Soundz.fm database has been enriched with the top radios created with Radionomy and you, our users, now have a bigger selection of interesting and innovative content as a result.

We hope you’ll enjoy this addition and make use of a greater choice of new unconventional radios. Don’t forget to check them and Radionomy out!

Most recently, we’ve updated the metadata fetching mechanism, so that all the info about songs from every radio is now truly real-time. Read the rest of this entry »

If you’ve already signed up and followed the link, here’s a little more info for You, dear Tester. First of all, thanks for signing up.

At the moment, we are still manually adding users to database, mostly for security reasons, so please be patient if it takes a few days.

We will send you an email with your initial password (you can change it later of course) and a link to our beta app.

Since we just started, we’d like you guys help test it out and build our radio database, so if there’s a public radio you’d like to listen to, please suggest it with all the info, we’ll be updating the database frequently. And most of all, please provide the most valuable feedback.

Soundz.fm is a minimal web application that lets you listen to your favourite public radios and see what they’re playing, real-time and in one place. Here’s a few of the features of this app.

See what’s on your favourite radio shows
We bet you know it – you hear a tune on some radio, but days later you can’t remember. With soundz.fm, this is not a problem anymore.
Listen to your favourite radios online
Create and edit your custom list of favourite radios and switch between them easily.
Mark tracks you like as loved
and browse them later. Buy them on Amazon, or look them up on myspace. Last.fm integration for loved tracks is on the way.
Not only you can see what’s on right now
but since we keep track of all songs played, don’t worry if you miss a track, you can always see one previously played.

We have a lot of new features planned for upcoming releases, so stay tuned and have a look every now and then. We hope you like it, if there’s anything you want to ask or provide some feedback, have a look at our feedback center or contact us directly.

What are you waiting for, sign up for private beta!
